What this category covers
Assistive Technology (AT) is the equipment, devices and software that help participants do things they couldn't otherwise do. Low-cost items (under $1,500) can be bought directly. Higher-cost or higher-risk items need an AT assessment.
An OT or physio usually writes the AT recommendation. The supplier then quotes and delivers.
Plan management
Capital Supports - Assistive Technology. Provider registration depends on the item: most mid-cost AT can come from any supplier; specialist higher-risk equipment needs registered suppliers.
Typical services
- Manual and powered wheelchairs
- Communication devices
