NDIS support
Transport
Getting to appointments, work, community activities or the shops.
What this category covers
Transport supports cover travel that is needed because of a disability. This includes assisted transport (a worker drives you), taxi or rideshare subsidies, and travel time when a support worker accompanies you to and from an activity.
Transport is a Core Support budget. The way you spend it depends on whether you are NDIA-managed, plan-managed, or self-managed.
Plan management
For NDIA-managed plans, the NDIA pays an allocation directly. Plan-managed and self-managed participants can engage providers more flexibly. Check with your plan manager or LAC.

Frequently asked
▸Can I use a regular rideshare for NDIS Transport?
Possibly - some rideshare and taxi operators integrate with NDIS payments. Check the operator and ensure your plan allows it.
▸Does the support worker driving me count as transport or as Daily Living?
If the trip is the support (e.g. assisted shopping) it sits under Daily Living. Standalone transport to and from an activity is Transport.
